Additionally, French is necessary for most public facing jobs, English is commonly spoken, especially in the downtown and west island. As well, Montréal Central Station is the city’s main transport hub and Montreal Coach Terminal is the main intercity bus terminal connected to the Metro.
Harsh winters, higher taxes, mandatory French language might put off digital nomads from extended stays. The city has a very diverse economy ranging from software development, video games, aerospace to tourism and media production. However, the city is also home to well known universities and one of the highest student populations in North America. The city is great for short term digital nomads.
