Baggage
GO Transit baggage policy is that passengers are allowed to bring enough luggage that they can carry and manage without assistance. Animals on leases, strollers (foldable), bicycles are also allowed. GO’s FAQ explains this in further detail.
This policy, however, does not apply to rush hour times when trains are filled with passengers.
Some Kitchener Line trains have dedicated bicycle storage cars on the lower level. For those travelling with a bike, board the coaches next to the locomotive, the cars with bike storage are located next to the locomotive.
Destinations
The Richmond Hill Line travels in a northern direction from Toronto to Richmond Hill. The route is popular with commuters and travels through the heart of Richmond Hill.

Classes
Pros
- Comfortable compared to driving on Highway 404 or the DVP, especially at rush hour.
- Strong peak-period service means that there are frequent rush hour trains.
- Very useful for 9-5 commuters.
- Excellent parking at Richmond Hill, Bloomington and other stations.
- Useful for residents of northern York Region living in rural and small towns.
- A good, relief line to take pressure off of the Barrie Line at peak.
- Arguable, GO Transit’s most scenic route that runs through the Don Valley. A must ride during peak fall colours.
Cons
- Service is limited to peak direction only on rush hour with no weekend service.
- Not useful on weekends with the line not operating.
- Very car oriented stations with the massive garage at Bloomington looking out of place in it’s forest setting.
- The train runs on a constrained rail corridor (Don Valley) that shares tracks with freight trains limiting expansion.
