Victoria International Airport is the busiest airport severing Victoria and is the primary airport for southern Vancouver Island. The majority of flights operating out of YYJ are regional (B.C. and Washington State), with frequent flights to Vancouver (YVR) and onto major eastern Canadian hubs such as Toronto (YYZ), Ottawa (YOW), and Montréal (YUL).
Located 22km north from downtown Victoria, several options allow travellers to reach the city centre and further onto Vancouver Island.

- The is small and easy to navigate with pre-security amenities facing Electra Bvld and post-security amenities and gates located close by.

- Across from the terminal are several aircraft assembly plants such as Viking Air.

- The main terminal is compact with short walking distance between areas.
- Strong connections to Western and Eastern Canada.
- Less overwhelming than other major aviation hubs .
- A great way to reach Vancouver Island without connecting through YVR if you’re final destination is the island.
- Seasonal flights to sun and Caribbean destinations.
Cons
- 25km form downtown Victoria.
- Fewer nonstop long-haul flights.
- Smaller international and U.S. network than YVR.
- Public transit options to downtown is less convenient than major hub airports.
Notes
- While smaller with fewer connections, YYJ makes up for in being an easy-to-navigate terminal and less stressful to navigate than larger hubs.
