Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is Toronto’s commuter airport located close to downtown serving regional flights.

Formerly known as Toronto City Centre Airport and also known as Toronto Island Airport

Located on the Toronto Islands, YTZ primarily serves as a regional airport utilizing propeller aircraft to destinations in Eastern Canada and the Eastern U.S. Predominately aimed at commuters and business travellers, casual travellers and tourists also use this airport as a way to avoid the much busier YYZ Airport and take in the scenic views of downtown Toronto. Flights out of Toronto at night are breathtaking.

Terminal information

Terminal 1

  • Hosts domestic and U.S. flights under one roof.
    • U.S. bound flights are separated after preclearance.

Notes

Notes
  • The terminal can be access via a pedestrian tunnel or via a ferry. The ferry is accessible to passengers mainly as pedestrians. Parking is available on and off the island.
  • The airport serves as a hub and maintenance centre for helicopters, MEDEVAC, and charter flights. If a charter fleet is operating out of YTZ, it will most likely operate out of one of the hangers nearby.
  • Tip: Want to enjoy some fresh air and take a smoke break? After crossing over over to the island exit the terminal and walk to the wharf just west of the ferry dock. Enjoy Muskoka chairs, breezy air and views of the Toronto Skyline before border. Many staff at the airport take their breaks here. The bike rack is located nearby.
