How To Get From Québec Airport To Old Quebec

Option 1: RTC Bus 76 / 80 Option 2: Taxi / Rideshare

Option 1: RTC Bus 76 / 80

  • Travel time: 1 hour
  • The most economical way to get from Québec Airport to Old Québec is by way of Le Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) buses. There are two similar options to get from YQB to downtown Quebec. One is direct (almost) while the other requires a transfer. The options:
  • RTC Bus 76
  • It’s important to note that bus route 76 does not travel directly from Quebec Airport to the city centre or Old Quebec directly. Instead bus 76 continues towards Saint-Foy near Laval University. Take the 76 and get off near Place Ste-Foy shopping centre. Transfer to RTC Métrobus 800 / 801 to continue eastward towards Old Québec.
  • Both the 800 and the 801 stop at Place D’youville – one of the many entrances to fortified old Quebec.
  • RTC Bus 80
  • While the most direct, bus route 80 doesn’t quite stop to the heart or downtown Quebec or Old Quebec. Instead the bus terminates in the beautiful historic neighbourhood of Saint-Roch – trendy gentrifying neighbourhood with lovely cafés and shops. A short walk 15 minute to Old Quebec and downtown. While not as well known, Saint-Roch has some beautiful, historical streets that feel like you’re back in Europe. If you’re up for a walk take RTC bus 80 towards centre-ville Québec.

  • Fare is $3.75 for either bus route.
  • Cheapest

Option 2: Taxi / Rideshare

  • Travel time: 45 minutes
  • Undoubtedly, the most expensive option from our list but the most private. In addition to taxis, Uber offers private rideshare services from the airport. Travel time is approximately 20-30 minutes. Expect to pay about $35-40 for a ride.
